Injury prevention and event preparation uses a combination of remedial and sports techniques to ensure athletes are in peak condition. Pre event massage compliments the warm up before competition through the use of fast, energizing strokes to increase blood flow and oxygen levels to the muscles. It is then possible to integrate massage during the competition to maintain a healthy state within the soft tissues and to decrease the risk of cramping and injury. Post event massage promotes soft tissue recovery by enhancing the removal of toxins such as lactic acid while encouraging tissue repair. Rehabilitation treatments use remedial techniques to address any injuries or soreness sustained during competition and reduces recovery times.
The purpose of lymphatic drainage is to stimulate the functions of the lymphatic/ immune and nervous systems. It is a great way to boost your immune system while achieving general detoxification. It is also very effective in treating inflammation & scaring (from injury, illness or surgery), as well as improving many health conditions from the common cold & flu, sinusitis and chronic fatigue syndrome through to Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease. The techniques used are gentle and rhythmic, making this a relaxing therapeutic treatment.
Remedial Massage is use for the rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries, musculoskeletal imbalances, neuromuscular holding pattens (caused by poor postural and work habits), and maintenance of chronic pain. Common conditions treated with remedial massage include: headaches; occupational overuse syndrome; tendonitis; muscle spasm resulting from disc & joint injuries; and everyday muscle tension. Specific techniques include Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and advanced stretching.
(also known as SWEDISH MASSAGE): Usually performed as a full body treatment but easily adapted to focus on any areas needing a more concentrated treatment, this classic style of massage relieves muscle tension, improves circulation; skin & muscle tone and encourages stress relief & relaxation. Techniques used are flowing and rhythmic, and the pressure is suited to your individual preference or needs.
